Volunteer Opportunities
We will be having a formal training session on Monday October 8, 2008 at the Southglenn Public Library at 7:00p.m. All Highlands460 homeowners are welcome to participate.
Living in the Highlands460 community is something we all take pride in. Each homeowner has a vested interest in the community and knows it takes effort from every homeowner to keep our neighborhood clean, safe and inviting. There are a number of volunteer opportunities for homeowners to help ensure our property values are protected and that our neighborhood continues to be desirable to not only current homeowners but future ones as well.
So how can I help? Currently we are in need of volunteers for the Architectual Control Committee (ACC). The primary duties of the ACC are to enforce the covenants and to review and respond to improvement requests as outlined in the covenants.
What types of requests does the ACC typically respond to? Most requests are for improvements, such as fence replacements, roof replacements, additions, and the installation of sheds. The ACC also responds to violations of the covenants.
How long do I have to commit? Each member of the ACC is selected for a one year voluntary term. They can continue on beyond a year if they choose to, but we ask that if you volunteer to please be able to complete your one year commitment. It is important to our community that we try to have overlapping coverage to be able to respond to homeowner requests in a timely fashion
Our neighborhood is over 30 years old now and homeowners with original roofs, fences and siding are looking to replace these old worn parts of their property to help keep up the beauty and value of their investment. Because of the large number of requests we need multiple volunteers. Our neighborhood is comprised of roughly 900 homes. Having one or two people cover this large of a community is just not possible. The more volunteers we have the easier it is to provide the coverage and takes less volunteer time for each volunteer.
Please take a few moments and consider if you have a few hours each week you can commit to helping our community as a member of the ACC. If you are interested please call and leave a message at 303-331-2366 or send us an email at h460acc@highlands460.org. We also have monthly meetings, the first Wednesday of every month at the Southglenn Public Library. Please check the homepage to confirm the date of the next meeting. Homewners are always welcome so if you would like to come see what we do please stop by.
